About the event
You are warmly invited to the Private View of Collection Ten - "Love Stories" - please RSVP here.
The Private View is on Friday 9th February from 5pm - 8pm
This will be the tenth collection in just over two years. The gallery has shown the work of more than 30 artists, with many of them remaining on our walls alongside newcomers I am proud to be able to represent so many talented creatives, all of whom have entrusted the gallery with their work, giving me the greatest pleasure of curating to my hearts’ content.
For this collection, we will have new work from Louise Robinson whose compelling miniature worlds show us snapshots of life, friendship and lives lived together. Tim Bates has produced new work for us, after completing a large commission for Browns Hotel, London, owned by the well-known Olga Polizzi. Sally Ellis’s vibrant paintings of still life seen through the lens of abstraction are evocative, atmospheric, rich in colour and texture and this time will be shown in the window.
In addition, we are extremely excited to welcome Helen Martinos’ ceramics whose work is collected by many all over the country. Her pieces are beautifully made and tell charming stories of love and friendship.
Linda Burris Webster is a visual artist whose photography features her sculptures from torn maps in an exploration of social and political dilemmas. They have caught the attention of many and we will be keeping them for Collection Ten.
Emma Fenelon presents a series of new sculptures inspired by the relics at Ness, the secret military site in Suffolk. Her wonderful ceramic ‘rooms’ tell stories, are thought provoking and humorous.
